Selecting the Perfect Handrail Profile
Hemlock's exceptionally smooth, resin-free grain makes it the perfect timber for a handrail, providing a flawless finish whether you choose to varnish, stain, or paint. We offer three distinct profiles for your balustrade: the prominent, traditional HDR; the sleeker, lower-profile LHR; and the beautifully curved, classic Cottage Loaf design.
Once you select your profile, choose the slot size (32mm, 35mm, or 41mm) that matches your wooden spindles, or select the Ungrooved option for use with modern glass panels or metal mounting brackets. For enclosed staircases, we also offer the classic wall-mounted Pigs Ear, which secures flush to the wall, or the elegant cylindrical Mopstick rail for use with decorative brackets.
